Again this year, Little League Umpire Classes will be taught by Mark McGill and Dean Harris. The dates are: Feb. 26 – Apr. 10, 2018 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Beaver Brook Community Center 9 Mann St. Registration fee is $50.00 and may be paid at the first class.

This year District 4 has added yet another tournament to its list. We will be hosting The Urban Initiative Jamboree June 10-12 at the Ted Williams Little League Field. This Jamboree is sponsored by Little League Baseball. We have 10 teams participating, 7 from our city. The leagues are Tom Ash, Lou Gehrig, Tris Speaker, and Connie Mack, a team from Woonsocket Rhode Island, and 2 from the Cape. These will be inner city regular season teams competing. The format is slightly different from regular season in that the players will be required to engage in more playing time whereby the coaches will be strategizing to make sure no player sits more than one inning. This is shaping up to be an exciting tournament for our players.

Holden Little League will be hosting the first ever 9/10 and 10/11 State Championships for All Stars, July 23-24. This year both age groups will play at a single venue for their State Titles. On July 23rd we will have the semifinals for each age group with the finals being on July 24th. Games on Saturday will run from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sunday will be 11:00 am, 1:00 pm.

July 22-28 District 4 will host both the Big League and Senior Softball Regional tournaments. This is the 10th anniversary for the Senior Softball and will be the 3 rd year for the Big League.

Little League has awarded the Big League Softball Regional to Mass. Dt.4 in Worcester. This tournament will be run in conjunction with the Senior League Softball regional Tournament.
